Florain Kruse, CEO
EVIA AERO GmbH

How do you see the advancements in electric and hybrid aerospace technologies influencing the future of sustainable aviation over the next decade?

Regional air transport between smaller airports will be a rapidly growing market in the future. Sustainable aircraft are the ideal transport solution for this market segment. By ramping up the production of commuter aircraft for 9 passengers, the industry will learn important lessons for larger green aircraft.

What are the key challenges that the industry faces in transitioning to electric and hybrid propulsion?

The aviation industry is naturally characterized by strong regulation and processes. We know and master these. The challenge is to have enough energy at airports to be able to operate sustainable aircraft commercially. We have seen what happens with e-cars when there is a lack of charging facilities. The conversion is slowed down.
