Ron van Baaren

Ron van Baaren is an aerospace engineer, former assistant professor of aircraft maintenance at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, TU Delft, and owner and CEO of ADSE, a privately owned independent Dutch aerospace engineering consulting company focusing on the development of future sustainable transportation systems. He is also chief technology officer at Fokker Next Gen, where he is responsible for all product development and R&D activities related to the development of clean sheet hydrogen combustion narrowbody airliners.

Fokker Next Gen – clean sheet hydrogen combustion aircraft

Fokker Next Gen has the ambition to enable net-zero aviation by developing a clean sheet hydrogen combustion airliner for 120 passengers, aimed at an entry into service in 2035. This presentation elaborates upon the aircraft design, with a specific focus on the key technological challenges related to the liquid hydrogen storage and distribution system, the hydrogen combustion engine and the company's associated R&D activities.
