Piers Olsen

Piers Olsen studied maths, physics, electronics and Russian at Calday Grange Grammar School in the Wirral, then mechanical and manufacturing engineering at Sheffield Hallam University. Following several engineering and design roles, he worked with Control Techniques UK (a Newtown, Powys-based £300m division of Emerson Industrial Automation, now part of Nidec Japan Corporation) for 10 years developing UK automation solutions for industrial markets and was subsequently the export sales manager for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
